On January 29th, GoodWill from American-Finnish production duo GoodWill & MGI tweeted, “Can’t wait til you guys hear our Super Junior record sometime in the future!” The track, titled “Gotcha Number,” will hopefully be released soon. The two have also produced and written for the likes of Akon, Sean Kingston, 50 Cent, and Justin Bieber.
Inciting many responses from fans, GoodWill then posed the question, “Who is better — Super Junior or Justin Bieber? Tough question!!!” Although Justin Bieber ranks number 2 on Twitaholic’s list of Top 100 Twitterholics, the responses surprised GoodWill: “Lots of responses! Lots of people are saying Super Junior!”
More questions from GoodWill asked fans to pick between Super Junior and pizza, homework, or television. Unsurprisingly, the vast majority of followers responded with “Super Junior!”
He then proceeded to make a deal with Super Junior fans: “If @MGIproducer and I both hit 1000 followers this week, we’ll make a song for Super Junior fans in February. Deal?”
Less than 24 hours later, GoodWill tweeted, “LOL guys, I can’t even believe it! TONS of followers I guess me and @MGIproducer owe you guys a SONG in February!!!!!” He then specified that since the two had already done “Gotcha Numba” for Super Junior, they would make a song for Super Junior fans. Although he could not guarantee that Super Junior would pick up the second song, GoodWill stated his hopes for ELFs to be recognized through a new song.
Capitalizing on fans’ loyalty, GoodWill then struck another deal with ELFs, promising to follow the members of Super Junior member when he reached 6,000 followers. Again, it took less than a day for the news to spread amongst ELFs, and GoodWill followed through on his promise.
Lately, GoodWill has been interacting with fans; every morning, he posts a picture of a Super Junior member and asks ELFs to identify the member.
When asked “What will you do for ELFs if you reach 10,000 followers?”, GoodWill responded, “I think I will officially become an ELF myself!”
Approximately an hour ago, GoodWill reached 10,000 followers. True to his word, GoodWill then proclaimed, “It’s official, guys: I’m an ELF!!!”
His partner MGI, who has been traveling in Thailand, seems to be out of the loop. He left for Thailand on January 29th and has had almost no Internet activity since then; on the 4th, MGI tweeted, “I just noticed I have like 4800 followers?!?!”
However much some celebrities are Internet-savvy, GoodWill seems to have hit the jackpot with Super Junior fans. The producer barely created his Twitter account this year; his follower count has been increasing almost exponentially. Super Junior’s strong international pull may have surprised GoodWill, but it has not surprised ELFs who live worldwide.
